The Jimann Stud of Trevor and Julie Campbell began with little more than the dreams of an 13 year old boy, as he watched the neighbouring herd of Jerseys graze the paddock adjacent to his Grandfathers farm. Persistence, hard work and an incredible love for the Jersey Cow has resulted in the herd of today.
Situated at Rochester, in Northern Victoria, the 60 hectare property consists of
gentle slopes, sandy soil, with belts of shady trees lining most paddocks.
A water right of 240 ML, supplemented with a 217 ML allocation on a deep lead bore, has provided just enough irrigation water in the last few dry seasons.
Approximately 45 hectares are sown to permanent pasture, with the remainder currently being lazered and sown to lucerne.
The Campbell’s 3 children, Melanie, Ashleigh and Jeremy are each pursuing teaching careers, they retain a very keen interest in the herd, and both boys have several animals registered under their prefixes, Ash-Lee and Kardinia Park.
