Meldan Jerseys is owned and operated by Brendan & Melissa Scott and their two young daughters, Ebony (14) and Chloe (11). Having recently purchased a farm in the ever reliable and very productive Binginwarri district of South Gippsland, we are enjoying the fruits of our labour, knowing that all our daily efforts transfer to improving a farm of our own. The focus now is to move towards a 100% Jeresy herd of productive functional cows that are a pleasure to work with. Currently the herd is 95% Jersey, 5% Crossbred Proven Bulls in use for 2011 include :Vanahlem (lots), and some AltaMerchant, Action, Maackdairy Region & JeVirgil. We still have some Navara, Lester & Legion for special matings and Flushes. Young Sires : Bos Froment, Sassafras, Rascal, Pembroke, Vipor, Hatman & Melvara Visitors are always welcome. Purchased from Kaarmona SILVER EDITION SALE Kaarmona Larfalot Babe 171 a Larfalot Yearling from the Ex90 Paramount daughter of Lester Babe 2 Sup 93pts. Kaarmona Spiritual Maggie May, a Spiritual bred to Region due August ,from a 86pt Taranak then a Blue marker then the famous 93pt Wilsonview B Maggie May. Spring classification went very well with 18 cows and 1 Heifer submitted. We now have 7 new Excellents, the 18 cows averaged 88 pionts.
